The concept of gender is often poorly differentiated with sex, at times even being utilized synonymously with sex. The terminology gender commonly appears within both popular and academic discourses regarding social event dynamics. The professor seems more interested in the identity of the Commander but not the human sufferings of Offred who was victimized by the Commander and the regime of Gilead. It is ironic that during this conference the minority were females, only one female professor was present at the conference which proves that even though this society, the society of 2195, is still sexist, some female rights have been reclaimed. In conclusion, The Handmaids tale presents extreme forms of sexism and hatred towards females, and repetition of this sexism is present in cultures preceding and following Gilead which proves that sexism is widespread in societies, today. Usually females are targeted to physical and emotion abuse from men, this is not only wrong but something that scars one for life. Men are men and women are women. Both have some specialties. And in that particular area one should be respected by the opposite and should be assigned to lead. So leading an example and not becoming a bystander will contribute to the awareness of sexism and equality can be formed. And even though it is in human nature for men to manipulate and take advantage of females, females should take a step and fight for their rights. Far Right Propaganda A Historical Analysis The parallels between modern far right propaganda and Nazi propaganda leading up to world war two. Propaganda is defined in the oxford dictionary as Information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote a political cause or point of view. Propaganda is biased, persuasive and not objective; a form of media usepd to promote a point of view or political stance. Propaganda has been used throughout history to influence and shape views by selectively presenting information and withholding facts. The language and imagery used in political propaganda is carefully selected to conjure an emotional response from an audience rather than a more rational response. The word propaganda is a word derived from the name of a new administrative body of the Catholic Church in 1622 entitled Congregatio de Propaganda Fide which translates as Congregation for the propagating the Faith or informally just propaganda.   Ã‚   There are three different types of propaganda; black, white and grey. White propaganda is the most credible and comes from a source that is identified correctly, and the information in the message tends to be accurate (Jowett and ODonnell, 2012, p.17). The source is often well respected and the information is truthful, however, presented in a way which is biased to convince the audience that they have the best knowledge of political ideology. The best example of white propaganda is newspaper publishing throughout history as the source is clear however the content can vary depending on the political views of the writer. Grey propaganda is a type of propaganda that falls between black and white propaganda; it is often created by a private organisation yet presents itself like a credible source. Grey propaganda can be described best as The source may or may not be correctly identified, and the accuracy of the information is uncertain (Jowett and ODonnell, 2012 p.20). In recent years the problem of fake news stories online is the most obvious version of modern grey propaganda. Black propaganda is the least credible type of propaganda and often comes from a fake or unidentified source and is used predominantly to spread lies. Black propaganda is often created with the intention of being portrayed as a credible source. A good example of the use of black propaganda was seen in the run-up to the 2007 federal election in Australia. Members of the liberal party circulated flyers around Sydney under the pretence of being circulated by an organisation called the Islamic Australia Federation. These flyers recognized the Australian L ­Ã‚ ­Ã‚ ­abour party for supporting Islamic fundamentalists and terrorism. The purpose of this was to conjure fear in the public and alter their political alliances. In Germany in the 1930s, propaganda played a very large part in how the Nazi Party were perceived. Control over what people in Germany could see was heavily restricted which meant obvious propaganda was used in all media including literature, art, music, film, newspapers and radio. Dr Joseph Goebbels was put in charge of propaganda with the official title Minister of Propaganda and National Enlightenment. It was his role to ensure nobody in Germany could see or read anything that could be damaging to the reputation of the Nazi party. Graphic design is key in conveying the messages of propaganda. All art is propaganda. It is universally and inescapably propaganda; sometimes unconsciously, but often deliberately, propaganda. This is according to Upton Sinclair, an American author and political commentator, and in the case of Nazi propaganda this was very true and deliberate. Views put across in Nazi propaganda seemed extreme in modern Britain until very recently. The idea that people were taken in by this blatant propaganda seems ludicrous, until you start to look at the startling correlation between imagery and views in Nazi propaganda leading up to world war two and propaganda created by far right groups in recent years. Despite not being part of the official leave campaign during the European Referendum in June 2015, Nigel Farage, Leader of far right political party UKIP made constant headlines throughout the campaign. The most controversial piece of propaganda over the last few weeks of campaigning was UKIPs breaking point poster which depicts a long line of refugees trying to reach Europe. The photograph was taken by photographer Jeff Mitchell and shows refugees passing through an old railway line in Slovenia after being kettled by police, explaining the traumatised look on their faces. Jeff Mitchell intentionally took the shot to show the volume of people from an impartial humanitarian point of view as he explains It was a very flat walk, so I scoped out a bridge to shoot from. I knew exactly what lens I was going to use, to compress the group, to show how many people were there. I could have walked with them the whole length, photographing how people were struggling, but you can sum it all up in one picture.. The photograph is now one of the most memorable images of the right wing pro-leave campaign and far right politics in Britain. The text and design of the poster is also important. The banner along the bottom is very simple and easy to read and also looks extremely similar to the format of the leave.eu official campaigns posters which could potentially have been planned to blur the line between the two. The Breaking Point poster was intended to evoke an emotional response from the audience. The image of the hundreds of predominantly male refugees was used so that British people voting in the referendum would feel fear or perhaps a need to protect their country from the unknown. Far right groups use fear and scaremongering in this way to incite hatred of foreigners and different races and religions. In the lead up to World War II, Nazi propaganda films were also used to spark this same sense of fear using volume of people. In my first image you can see a still from a 1941 Nazi newsreel showing the march of Bessarabian Jews in Romania. In this same newsreel, the Jews are also referred to as parasites which links strongly to how refugees are perceived today. The two images have a lot in common in both appearance and political message and both aim to evoke the same response from the audience fear and hatred. Although, different Medias, the photography is similar and has been directly p lanned in order to show as many people as possible in the image. In the case of the Breaking Point poster, UKIP have appropriated this image for their own political cause, whereas in the Nazi newsreel, it is highly likely this was done intentionally. Another parallel between the two images which explain their form and the faces of those photographed is the events leading up to the images. In the photograph of the Jews travelling through Romania they were forced to walk in such a line similarly to the refugees in Slovenia who were kettled by police before being walked in a certain direction. But the most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly and with unflagging attention. It must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over. Here, as so often in this world, persistence is the first and most important requirement for success. Affirmative action is a term used to describe rules and regulations that were established to protect minorities and women from being discriminated against (Simmons 1982). Affirmative action has changed the way people were treated since it was first brought into order in 1961 by president John F. Kennedy through executive order 10925(Alexander 1999). It helped established more opportunities for minorities and women in education, employment and housing (Dietz 2001). Nevertheless, affirmative action has caused much controversy in our society and whether it has benefited America (Altschiller 1991). As a result, there are those who believe minorities have benefited, yet the dominant group has suffered. Before the passing of executive order 10925, minorities and women were treated unfairly. Before president Kennedy brought the executive order into action, minorities suffered a great deal of discrimination. In the past, minorities were abolished from specific areas. For instance they were not allowed to use the same bathrooms as whites (Alexander 1999). The minorities were spatially segregated from the rest of society meaning outsides did not accept them; they weren’t allowed to obtain certain jobs, live in close proximity to the dominant group or receive the same educational opportunity (Parrillo 2003). After Kennedy, president Lyndon Johnson established several laws that helped establish better opportunities for minorities such as his â€Å" Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in 1965 and then the office of Federal Compliance in 1967†(Alexander 1999). In addition, he was simultaneously establishing the Fair Housing Act as well as the Economic Opportunity Act. The Civil Rights Movement was one of the major contributors to the establishment of the parity laws. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 made it possible that the federal level could enforce the law on those who violated it, which helped give minorities the protection they needed from the Dominant group. After the implementation of affirmative action and the laws that followed, â€Å"the proportion of blacks in white-collar jobs grew from 10% to 24% and the ratio of black median family income to white rose from 55% to 62%†(Alexander 1999). Executive Summary The need to maintain a safe and healthy environment especially in the workplace has become a major goal in global corporations. In Canada, Health and Safety laws have been put in place to ensure employers take reasonable precaution to provide a safe working environment for their employees. Employees on the other hand, have an obligation to comply with the laid down health and safety policies and apply them accordingly. Health and safety inspection are the best way to identify potential workplace hazards before they cause a health and safety or a problem. The main purpose of this project is applying our knowledge of occupational health and safety in the workplace situation by identify and assessing workplace hazards and recommending control measures to eliminate or reduce the risk of identified hazard. It is important from every employee and employer point of view to recognize each and every hazard. It also enables us to know the health and safety measures that can be analyzed during inspection. As a team we can easily recognize what are the responsibilities of an employer, supervisor and employee. Through this project we as a team will get a golden opportunity to understand the risk involved in every hazard. The inspection was carried out at Centennial College Residence located at 940 Progress Avenue, Canada. For the inspection, we focused on the kitchen/storage and the atrium area on which our findings are based on. To help with our findings we also interviewed an employee who works in a storage room as a cleaner. We asked him about the PPE’s used while working he showed us the PPE’s which they use while working in a storage room. He also accompanied us to the inspection of storage room. Overall the college residence has taken reasonable steps to maintaining a safety and healthy environment taking into account the number injuries associated with the accommodation industry However, this report shows nine (9) of our findings, most of which were safety related hazard and mostly work practice hazard. They required little$0-$600 or no cost to implement recommendation s per hazard. H&S Pre-Inspection: Key Insights: The 1st piece of information gathered was that of Marta Borowskas’ (the Residence & Conference Centre General Manager) WSIB Certification. This certificate officially states that she has successfully completed both Part 1 and 2, which is the Basic Certification and also Workplace-Specific Hazard training. This then means that she is the delegated JHSC representative for the Residence and gives her authority for the successful running of Health & Safety programmes. We received the Colleges’ Occupational Health & Safety policy and protocol for reporting Health & Safety hazards during our information gathering processes. This was issued on the 14th April 2010; an updated 2011 version is in the process of being issued, by Centennial College President & CEO Ann Buller. This highlights the Colleges firm stance on Health & Safety importance as it is being endorsed by the President herself. This document outlines the purpose, scope, rules & regulations and policy specific content and clearly defines the parameters with which they are analysed. We also looked at the Health & Safety notice-board, which was centrally located and readily visible. We noted that they had included the names, roles and responsibilities and contact details (e-mail, addresses and tel. Number). Most importantly of all it clearly made particular reference to each of their respective individual skill and training certification levels also. We also gained access to the Residences’ MSDS forms, Propane for example. There is a vast amount of relevant information divulged on each MSDS form-sheet, these include the chemical formation, classification and DOT Hazard Class, its boiling and freezing points, and under what chemical categorisation it is filed under. It also gives First Aid directions to undertake. Other documentation we received outlined the college’s stance on work refusal situations among college (and residence) employees. The whole process and stages along the process of coming to a successful resolution is outlined clearly in the adjoining Appendices’ diagrams. Also attached is the company’s policy on what to do in times of violence in the workplace. Logistics: The inspection of The Centennial Residence was carried out on Sunday the 3rd April. All group members were in attendance in order to be truly thorough with our inspection. In order for this inspection to happen, we had to first gain approval from the General Manager of the Residence,  Marta Borowska. This was done in an informal manner and she was of great help to our cause aiding us with as much information as was at hand to her. Inspection Procedure Details: We identified that we would need to bring some helpful equipment with us. At a basic level of course pens, pencils, paper would be essential. We also brought a camera, latex gloves and measuring tape. A thorough inspection of the residence should take roughly an hour or more to complete. Floor Plan: An appropriate floor plan was drawn, complete with accompanying legend, and the most efficient route, which would fully inspect all areas, was devised. As evidenced within the floor plan, our inspection area encompassed the atrium and adjoining storage room, and corridor entering the atrium of the residence. Particular potential hazards such as uncovered switch board, inappropriate placing of table and crack in the ceiling, was found. Have all the hazardous substances been labelled clearly? Yes all were labelled clearly. 10. Are the hazardous materials (WHMIS) MSDS sheets filed in binders on the premises? Yes they are field in binders on the premises. 11. Are the flammable materials stored in proper location? Yes they were stored properly. 12. Are smoke detectors working properly? Yes they are working properly. 13. Are carbon monoxide detectors working properly? Yes they are working properly. 14. Are elevators working properly? Yes elevators were working properly. 15. Observe any personal using improper lifting techniques? Did not notice any employees lifting something in an improper way. 16. Are storage cleaned regularly? Yes storage are cleaned regularly. 17. Are employees wearing the required protective equipment/ Yes according to the conversation with an employee they wear the required equipment while cooking. 18. Is the location of the 1st aid kit clearly marked, known and accessible to the work area and adequately supplied? Yes they were clearly accessible. 19. Is the eye wash station maintained and accessible? Yes it was accessible. 20. Is the emergency bag in designated location and sealed? Yes it was located properly and was also sealed. 21. Filters in exhaust system cleaned at least daily? Cleaned daily. 22. Was perishable or potentially hazardous food properly stored at the correct temperature? Yes the food in the kitchen was stored in proper temperature. 23. Was there enough space to walk through the storage room? In the storage room the small moving shelves with wires in it were obstacle for us to move around in the room. 24. Was there proper ventilation in the kitchen? No there was no proper ventilation in the kitchen. 25. Was there the list of health and safety committee? Yes there was the list of health and safety committee present. 26. Was there H & S policy statement? Yes they had health and safety policy statement. Major Findings We started our inspection from the atrium area of the residence. It is a very clean open space area with the billiards table and a table soccer table to play in Middle West part of the atrium. And to left of south of the areas there were some chairs with a table to sit and do the work. We as a health and safety team entered the area with a strong inspiration to find hazards. Hazard 1 Broken Hot Tub Fence: We entered from the front door and move left to the sitting area as it was very clean and clear to be honest we were inspecting with our eyes open to find a hazard suddenly we looked the spa. It was nicely covered with a brown coloured fence and a board written on it to identify the area. One of the members from our team inspects the fence very closely and he found out that the fence is broken. Fence was tilted out from the original position. It was at the lower part of the fence. It can be really dangerous as someone walking close to the fence suddenly can catch the fence and can cause some serious injuries by falling down on to the ground. We took the picture of this hazard as from the picture it is clearly seen that the fence is broken at the ground level. This hazard can’t be ignored easily it looks very simple but it’s very dangerous in aspect to the result. (for picture, appendix 3) Hazard 2 Loose Light frame As we walked down the stairs in the atrium area we noticed very loose light frame that was attached to a wall. I was so loosed that its sides were starting to come out. On examining this hazard we found out that the fame was missing few screws and this was the reason it was coming off the wall. As shown in the picture the light frame is very loose, people walking on the stairs can accidently come in contact with the loose light frame. This can lead to dangerous electric shock or a fall from the stair case. This type of hazards cannot be identified at the first look. It requires deep inspecting (for picture see appendix 4). Hazard 3 Open Electric Circuits. We then moved to south of the atrium. As we were moving towards the elevator we saw an electric socket completely open on the wall. It was placed exactly beside an elevator’s wall. Wires from the socket were completely exposed. As its position was below the wall so it’s very hard to see it. But a person walking or waiting for the elevator can easily make contact with it. These circuits carry electrical currents which are harmful and can result to electric shock, leading to serious injuries or death. (For picture see appendix 5) After completing the inspection of the common hall we went to a room which was combined as a kitchen and a storage room located south of the atrium area. The kitchen was on the left side and the storage room was on the right side of the door. In order to make it simple lets name the storage section as A and the kitchen section as B. The thing separating these two rooms was a thick wall without any doors. In other words if we stand at the entrance of the room we can see the first aid tool kit, eye washer and fire extinguisher in front of us. After entering the room if we go right we will find the storage room where tables, trays boxes, etc. was stored. If we look at the storage section we can see two rooms. We have named these rooms as a1 and a2. The 1st room i.e. a1 was filled with extra tables, trays, and the other decoration things. The other room i.e. a2 contained various shelves and these shelves were filled with boxes, table cloths, wires, etc. On the other side i.e. on the left side there was a kitchen (section B) there were 2 gas stoves, 3 refrigerators and a long passage where cooking vessels were stored. Hazard 4: Heavy Tray on boxes As we entered a1 part of storage section we saw a heavy tray made of steel, which was not placed properly by the employees. It was exactly situated in the center of the room a1. It was placed on the empty boxes and these boxes were light in weight. The tray was very heavy and if it fell on employees it can hurt badly. The tray was kept without any proper support. In other words it can be said that the tray was half placed on the boxes. The workers were not following the work practices properly and this can lead to an accident  in the storage room.(for picture see appendix 6). Hazard 5: Oil on the floor The floor at the entrance of the room there was a large amount of oil on the floor; the south direction (entrance) of the room a1. This is a safety hazard because any employee can hurt himself/herself by slipping on the floor due to the oil on the floor. This can also be categorized under work practice hazard as it is the duty of the employees to keep the workplace clean in order to avoid accidents. (For picture see appendix 7). Hazard 6: Tables not properly place In the room a1 we saw were some huge tables which were not placed properly. The tables were placed to lean on the wall and positioned in a way that could hurt anyone and can cause a serious injury.These tables were seen on the left side as we enter in room a1. (For picture see appendix 8) Hazard 7: Small moving shelves After inspecting the room 1 we moved towards room a2 in room a2 there were two big shelves (not movable) on the left side of the room and some boxes were on the right side of the room. The way in the middle was blocked by the small moving shelves and due to this there was no enough space to walk in the room. These shelves were full of wires and other heavy materials such as laptop and speakers which created more difficulty walking through the room. An employee can fall and can cause an injury because of these obstacles. Hence this can be considered as a confined space hazard. (For picture see appendix 9) Hazard 7: Heavy Boxes on shelves On the left side of the room a2 there were two big immovable shelves which contained of boxes table clothes, empty plates, glasses, etc. There were few boxes that were big in size and contained heavy material in it. These boxes were kept on the top of the shelves and some part of these boxes was coming out of the shelves. In other words we can say that the boxes were not fitting in the shelves. This can be considered as a material hazard because these boxes can fall on someone. It can also be considered as a work  practice hazard because it is carelessness of the employees to keep the boxes on the top of the shelves even if they are not fitting there. This hazard can be dangerous to anyone and can cause some serious injuries. There are two pictures showing these hazards. (For pictures see appendix 10). Hazard 8: Crack in Ceiling Looking up, a crack in the ceiling was seen in room a2. This crack was in the ceiling which was situated right behind the door of entrance of room a2. This can be considered to be a very dangerous hazard because this crack can lead to breakdown of ceiling resulting in injury or death of the person standing below the ceiling. This hazard comes under the category of ergonomics or workplace design hazard. (For picture see appendix 11). Hazard Inspection Analysis and Assessment Here we determined the level of risk of the hazards we identified from our inspection and make recommendations based on it. Risk is the probability of an injury expressed as a percentage. The calculation of risk for any hazard will be Risk= Probability X Consequence X Exposure. Where probability refers to the chance that something will happen, consequence refers to the result of injury that could arise from the hazard. Exposure is the number of times a contact is made with the event (IAPA, 2006). Importantly it is recommended that the kitchen and storage area be redesigned and organised to improve health and safety. The main reason, tools and others materials are not kept properly is due to lack of space in this work station. Also Administrative control such as training should be giving to employees especially those who work in the kitchen and storage area, they should be thought on safe ways to organize and plan their work.

The Person I Admire The Most

Among the teachers who have taught me through my school life, Mr.Huyyt is the one that I most admire. He was the English teacher of mine during my school life at CWPPS. In contrast to some teacher's apathy, his vitality always refreshed the atmosphere in our classroom. Moreover, his enthusiasm and thoughtfulness still warmed my heart to this day.James Huyyt won everyone's spelling completion soon after he began teaching us. As he was not the first English teacher of us, everyone had a skeptical eye on him in his first class. Sensing our doubts, he began the class with a guessing-people game. he asked us to write about our characteristics on a small piece of paper, which afterwards was read to the class for us to identify the person. We had great fun that day due to his ingenuity to grasp what we wanted. Afterwards, the contempt students used to hold in him was nowhere to be seen.The energy and passion James possessed when teaching was unbelievable. With more and more days he spent wi th us, I noticed a distinctive quality of his that truly amazed me. No matter what the weather was like and how he was feeling, he was always in high spirits when he entered the classroom, as if he was ecstatic to see us. Besides, he encouraged us to interact with him; therefore, the class was by no means serious and tense, but very enjoyable and inspiring.James used clever techniques to arouse our interest in learning English. Quizzes are the indispensable element of a class, but James added them with his own illustrations to make them more fascinating. He also printed many handouts, adorned with him amusing drawings, to provide the information missing in the textbook for us. In short, he had the magic to transform something painstaking into pleasure. Furthermore; lots of English songs were introduced to us in his class.

The focus of juvenile diversion programs is to fix the problem rather than the juvenile having a criminal record and is aimed at juveniles 12 to 17 years (Juvenile Diversion). The process gives juveniles the opportunity to stay out of the juvenile justice system, providing the juvenile stays with the program and all the steps required for completion.This paper will discuss the juvenile intervention contract program and SAGA camp. There will also be a brief summary of a new program offering teen drivers a chance to correct a first time traffic citation. These programs have proven to be effective and beneficial to the area. Juvenile diversion program has services for juveniles who show behavior associated with being a delinquent and may result with the juvenile justice system taking action. These programs are an alternative to a criminal history, but also save the government money through prevention of housing a juvenile for a crime.The juvenile diversion programs offer the juveniles a way to making a change before prosecution. These programs have worked to reduce juvenile crime and assist the juveniles' individually specifically by need. The juvenile intervention contract program with the San Diego Sheriff's Department in California offers juveniles a course of action instead of prosecution. This program is offered by each Detective assigned to a station prior to or in place of prosecution. The contract gives the juvenile specific guidelines to follow to stay on track.The contract consists of the minor having no police contact in a negative way, stay away from illegal activity, follow parents and school rules, attendance at school, minimum of a c average in every class, 20 hours of community service, an essay of at least 500 words, report card, and drug or al cohol testing. The juvenile intervention contract gives the juvenile a date to complete the listed goals and failure to obey and obtain the rules can result in prosecution and the juvenile will no longer be eligible for the program. Sheriff's Adolescent Group Adventure (SAGA), rovided camps for juveniles to build confidence and self-esteem. This camp has recently been discontinued because of budget cuts; however, is one of the best known diversions in the area. The one day camp was an outdoor challenge for juveniles to stimulate the juvenile mentally and physically. The camp offered group activities to develop teamwork and leadership while also offering individual activities. The individual activities offered personal growth for the juveniles at each juvenile's level of need. The goals of the camp were provide the opportunity for juveniles to succeed individually and as a part of a team.SAGA's goals were leadership, self-esteem, trust, teamwork, courage, and communication. All of th e goals were factors in every activity; activities included obstacle courses that assisted juveniles in getting over fear, trust, and to build courage. The course known as the Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience (COPE) was located at Camp Mataguay and ran once a month (Sheriff's Department Re-Opens Day Camp for At-Risk Youth, 2008). This course helped juveniles face their fears through communication and hard work, which allowed juveniles to look within for the courage to conquer the course.The camp was set up with the belief that if a juvenile faces these challenges it would help in proper decision making later. This camp was also part of a three day camp cancelled by funding called the Sheriff's Diversion Camp. The two camps had the same goal in mind. A recent program being offered in San Diego County in California is a chance for first time drivers with a minor traffic violation to work with a juvenile detective and avoiding a violation on the juvenile's record. When a juvenil e is written a citation the local detective has the option to review the citation and contact the driver.With the parents, juvenile, and detective working together a juvenile intervention contract is signed. After an agreement and signed contract the juvenile must follow the contract. The juvenile must also attend a course called smart start put on by law enforcement which teaches juveniles the truth on the dangers of driving. Once the agreement is fulfilled the citation is dismissed which clears the juvenile's traffic record. This is a onetime deal offered for first time drivers only for the juvenile's first traffic offense.The juvenile intervention contract and camp program have both been effective, but with the cut on funding the camp is no longer offered and the juvenile intervention contract is the only one still in effect. It is effective in changes juveniles who choose to change and give the program a chance. The juvenile intervention contract assists parents and their child in finding the right steps to take to avoid prosecution. The contract gives the juvenile another chance to make the right choice and continue on without a criminal record.SAGA and the juvenile intervention contract are vital in reducing juvenile crime. These programs give juveniles the skills to move on from the criminal behavior. These programs provide self-confidence, trust, and a new outlook for some. The diversion programs teach juveniles that crime is not the way while building trust with law enforcement officers. It doesn't work for every juvenile involved as some just do not want to change, but the reduction in juvenile crimes says it all, it is working to reduce crime. Programs designed to prevent delinquency have shown to be beneficial.The programs rehabilitate and educate the juvenile to avoid prosecution on a first time offense. Without juvenile diversion programs most juveniles would not want to change or have an alternate way out of criminal activity. Law enforcement se eks to help teens who sometimes just need a little extra help finding his or her way in life without crime. If these juvenile diversion programs were not available the courts, law enforcement, and probation systems may see an increase in juvenile related crimes. This would amount to more costs for the court and local governments.The programs objective is to prevent future crimes and juvenile crime rates.
